Batuta was first released in 1999. The goal was to produce an impressive Douro wine and the name Batuta was the perfect name (stands for the baton an orchestral conductor uses) .

The fruit comes from Quinta do Carril a north facing vineyard, with more than 70 years, near Quinta de Napoles and two vineyards at 750 meters over 100 years olds. Batuta is a perfect blend: powerfull yet elegant and with great harmony. A wine with great ageing potencial.

Batuta was produced in 1999, 2000, 2001, 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2007.

CHARME

Charme is all about elegance and balance, achieved by taking special attention to the smallest details during all the wine making process. Charme is made in traditional stone lagares with 100% stems. The Elegance is acheived using grapes from very old vineyards in the Vale Mendiz area on the banks of the Pinhão river

Charme was produced in 2002, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008.

Redoma was the first douro table wine from Niepoort and the first release was back in 1991. Redoma is like the Douro "extreme and with a rigorous character". Old north facing vineyards from Quinta de Napoles and Pinhão Valley are the base for Redoma. The main varieties are Tinta Amarela, Tinta Roriz and Touriga Franca.

This is the new wine in the Niepoort red wine wine family. The wine is fresh, very mineral and expressive and approachable in its youth. Vertente is a pleasant drink with balanced power and elegance.

Inspired by an old idea of his father, Dirk associated with Alvaro de Castro in order to make the “perfect wine”. The innovative approach is the union of two different wine regions Dão and Douro. The combination of the different characteristics of the vines creates an impressive wine with the freshness and elegance of Dão and the concentration and fine tannins of Douro.
The first Dado was born in 2000, a blend of 50% Dão wine from Quinta da Pellada and 50% Douro from Quinta do Carril. Making the wine was actually the easiest part of the process. The challenge was to overcome all the legal problems related to the label approval. As a table wine the label could not mention: regions involved , year of harvest, year of bottling, or the history of the wine…
The result is lovely, perfumed, raspberry fruit aromas, with richness and freshness on the palate. Tannins are firm, acidity bright, and there’s a creamy feel to the whole.

Dado was produced in 2000, 2001, 2003, 2004 and the distribuitiob was limited to Portugal

Doda started in 2005 for the world market

In 2002, Dirk Niepoort created the first Fabelhaft: the intention was to produce a wine to celebrate good food, good friends and good life. In 2007, we moved a step forward creating also the “Fabelhaft Reserva 2007”.
In such a good year in the Douro Valley, we could not resist to produce a wine with a longer ageing process, both in barrel and in vat, with more complexity and higher ageing potential, but still maintaining the spirit of FABELHAFT.

FABELHAFT

Das genussbetonte Erlebnis des Raben Huckebein und sein fatales Ende in zauberhafter Weise von Wilhelm Busch geschildert, hat Niepoort für Fabelhaft gewählt. Da Tiergeschichten auch als „Fabel“ bezeichnet werden, trägt der Wein den Namen „Fabelhaft“. Und so schmeckt er auch! „Fabelhaft“ zeigt alle Stärken eines klassischen Douro-Weines wie tiefe Frucht, lebhafte Säure und reife Tannine. Gleichzeitig aber bereitet er schon in seiner Jugend Trinkfreude. Ausgewogenheit und Drinkability sind seine Essenz.

Fabelhaft wurde in den folgende Jahren produziert: 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005. 2006, 2007 und 2008.

FABELAKTIG

Fabelaktig er laget av druer fra området Cima Corgo, hovedsakelig Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz, Touriga Nacional, Tinta Barroca og Tinta Cão. 2005 er andre årgang som er produsert av denne Dourovinen for det norske markedet. Det er en intens vin, med sterkt Douro preg, frisk og behagelig å drikke, med bløte tanniner og fruktig aroma.

GESTOLEN FIETS

De Gestolen Fiets strip is ontworpen door de Nederlandse Illustrator Willlem Holtkamp. De wijn wordt geproduceerd van wijnstokken uit de cima corgo en bestaat hoofdzakelijk uit de druivenrassen Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz, Touriga Nacional, Tinta Barroca en Tinto Cão. 2004 is de eerste uitgave van deze Douro-wijn die speciaal voor de Nederlandse markt wordt geproduceerd. Het is een intense wijn, uitgesproken Douro van karakter maar tegelijkertijd fris en gemakkelijk te drinken met zachte tannines en fruit aroma's, kortom een ideale tafelgenoot! Gestolen Fiets is gemaakt in 2004 en 2005.

SARVET

Sarvet:in etiketissä on sarjakuva jonka on piirtänyt Viivi ja Wagneristaan tuttu Juba Tuomola. Tämän viinin rypäleet; mm. Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz, Touriga Nacional, Tinta Barocca ja Tina Cão on viljelty Dourossa, Cima Corgossa. Tätä vain suomen markkinoille tuotettua viiniä, valmistui ensimmäisen kerran vuosikertaa 2004. Kyseessä on intensiivinen viini, täynnä Douron luonnetta mutta raikas ja helposti lähestyttävä. Viinissä on pehmeät tanniinit ja hedelmäisyyttä; parasta seuraa ruokapöytään. Vuosikerran 2004 lisäksi Sarvet:ia on tuotettu myös vuonna 2005.

Öö Ja Päev

Veiniprojekt "Öö ja Päev" on valminud koostöös maailmakuulsa Portugali veinitootja Dirk Niepoorti ja rahvusvaheliselt tuntuima eesti joonisfilmikunstniku Priit Pärnaga. Veinipudeli etiketi on kujundanud Priit Pärn spetsiaalselt Eesti veinituru jaoks. Vaimukas lugu ja pildiseeria peegeldavad endas ka selgelt veini lõbusat karakterit: värske ja elav, kergelt joodav, samas küllaltki kompleksne ja mineraalne, klassikalise Douro oru punaveini maitsetesügavuse ja meeldiva happesusega.

DRINK ME

The idea behind Drink Me is the creation of a pleasant, easy drinking red wine yet keeping complexity,mineral notes and great depth like the classic Douro wines.

The label also tells a story: Illustration is done by Steven Appleby, Canadian born cartoonist, and known for many drawings especially in The Guardian and Sunday Telegraph. Appleby has created a cartoon in 11 pictures, called Message in the Bottle. Further storyboards/labels on Drink Me, such as
Secret Life and Hidden Essentials are going to be launched later.

Que l’on pourrait nommer Alleï Santé en bruxellois, est un projet, une aventure, une idée.´Celle d’un vin rouge amusant, se buvant facilement sans jamais perdre le goût de ses racines, celle d’une des plus belles régions viticoles du monde: Le Douro. Il présente d’ailleurs les caractéristiques classiques de son terroir ; une certaine minéralité et, surtout, cette longueur si particulière aux vins de la vallée. L’étiquette nous raconte, au travers de 12 dessins signés de la main de Frédéric Janin, une petite histoire drôle. Deux chiens sympathiques qui jettent un regard décalé et parfois un peu acide sur le monde de leurs «maîtres»

Esta é a terceira edição do Conversa, um vinho feito para o prazer da boa mesa que procura harmonia e o equilíbrio para todos os dias e não apenas para momentos especiais. Um vinho que apetece beber com uma boa estrutura de taninos, presentes mas nunca agressivos, com o carácter do Douro que encanta pela sua jovialidade e frescura. Mais uma vez, apenas uma pequena parte do vinho estagiou em barricas de carvalho francês.

The drawings for Sásta are by Fintan Taite, an award-winning Irish cartoonist and illustrator who lives and works in Dublin .The cartoon is about St Patrick and the legend of his banishment of the snakes and the wine is pleasant drinking, intense and full of Douro character; it is fresh, fruity and spicy with smooth tannins.

UBUNTU!!

UBUNTU!! A special edition to

celebrate the World Cup in South Africa! The artist Leonora van Staden, from Stellenbosh, drew this amusing label showing animals playing a great football match! Ubuntu is an ethic or humanist philosophy focusing on people's loyalties and relationships. The word has its origin in the Bantu languages of southern Africa and is seen as a classical African concept.
Dirk, a football fan, explains the concept and the relation with football:“In football, as in life, the concept stands for "humanity" and "public spirit" but also for the belief in a universal band of sharing.”

BEREK

The idea behind BEREK is the creation of a pleasant, easy drinking red wine yet retaining complexity, mineral notes and great depth found in the classic Douro wines. The storyboard is by Rysunek Andrzej Mleczko, a satirist artist, born in Krakow, very well known throughout the country, who publishes its weekly drawings in several journals.

REDOMA BRANCO RESERVA

Redoma Branco comes from small and very old vineyards, with many different varieties, the most important are: Rabigato, Codega, Donzelinho, Viosinho and Arinto.
These vineyards are planted at high altitudes, between 400 and 700 metres, on the right side of Douro river. The final result it’s an impressive wine, fresh and mineral but showing also concentration and complexity.

TIARA

Tiara is Niepoort’s last creation: a fresh, elegant white wine. Tiara’s freshness and acidity is not typical for Douro white wines but the concentration of old vines is distinctive Douro.
The slow fermentation (3 month) and the altitude of the vines give elegance and freshness and the age (average 60 years) of the vines are responsible for the concentration.

Tiara was produced in 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2007.

REDOMA BRANCO

The vineyards for the Redoma White are all above 400 metres, up to 800 metres, thus having a cooler (particularly at night) and longer ripening, all vineyards are over 60 years old, 3 of them being particularly old (over 100 years old).

The main variety is rabigato, having a high portion of Codega and some other varieties. It has no malvazia fina.

Produced in 1995, 1996 ,1997, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009.

The Girosol results from the search of a Vinho Verde that reveals the region, balanced and complete that seats all its vinification in a vibrant acidity. It is produced exclusively with one of main variety of
the region, Loureiro, that comes from its traditional origin, the valley of Lima.

Girosol was produced in 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009.

PROJECTOS

Projectos (which is the portuguese word for projects) are small experiments where Niepoort tries out different paths to create other wines and shares the results with the wine lovers. The first creations are uncommon wines for Douro: Chardonnay, Colheita Tardia Riesling and Pinot Noir.

REDOMA ROSÉ

Niepoort launched the first Rosé, thus proving that high-quality wines may also be coloured pink.
Redoma is fermented in new French oak casks after free run juice from traditional stone lagares, in opposite to the typical winemaking of Rosé wine. Complexity is obtained by a long (several hours) skin contact.
